About

My passion for photography goes back to the first AGFA ISOLA camera I received as a child. Since then creating images has been an immensely enjoyable part of my life.

In the time of analogue photography I studied arts in Cologne/Germany and later taught the subject of photography and darkroom techniques.

But only the advent of digital photography has enabled me to extend my interest, particularly in landscape and seascape.

Over the years my enthusiasm in the art of producing images has grown from the love of my surroundings, being fortunate enough to live near the coast and the breath-taking countryside of South Kerry.

Living in a cottage that dates from around 1840 and having been involved in restoring some other vernacular buildings, I have a special interest in these old structures. Lately my focus shifted towards documenting derelict and abandoned traditional dry stone walled houses and the special beauty of their details.
